Last week actress/singer Jennifer Lopez attended the Barney’s New York launch of Andrea Lieberman’s new collection, A.L.C. in Beverly Hills, California. Lieberman has been a celebrity stylist for J. Harem pants are one of those fashion items that always seem to be popular, even though they’re equally loved and hated. Called harem pants, ‘Hammer’ pants, or genie pants, they can range from high-fashion – on and off the runway – to costume-y – think “I Dream of Jeannie“. They’re trendy but while some brave fashionistas can successfully rock the look, many others shy away from the droopy pants. Four of our favorite fearless celebrity fashionistas have rocked them, but we still have mixed feelings on their looks.

We can always count on Gwen Stefani, Keri Hilson, Kim Kardashian and Rihanna to rock some cutting-edge looks, so naturally they’d all wear harem pants! Gwen paired her balloon-style harem pants with an edgy black leather jacket, black draped top, black bag and black stiletto boots. When it comes to designer collaborations, Target is the certified leader. But unlike Target’s previous collaborations (Rodarte, Calypso and Mulberry, and the upcoming Missoni line), the recently announced one isn’t for women or juniors – it’s for babies, children and tweens. Singer, fashion designer and style icon Gwen Stefani is partnering with Target to launch Harajuku Mini – a version of her Japanese anime-inspired Harajuku Lovers collection but for the kids.

Stefani commented:

“Harajuku Mini is a dream come true. I’ve always wanted to do a cool children’s fashion line inspired by the supercute and playful kid’s clothing you find in Japan. The whole idea is about being creative, expressing your own individuality and having fun getting dressed. Target has given me the creative freedom to design kid’s clothing that is different than most anything you usually see out there with great quality, attention to detail and most of all, available at amazing prices.“

The collection will appear in Target stores and on target.com starting in November and will range in price from $3.99 to $29.99. There’s no word yet on what the line will be comprised of but we’re picturing tons of supercute mini-Gwen Stefani gear.

When it comes to celebrity style, I have a few favorites that I like to ‘mock’. I love Rihanna’s edgy, rocker chick looks, though wearing those clothes everyday is not an option for me. I also love Kim Kardashian’s Cali-girl glam style of form-fitting dresses with sky-high heels, especially when going out to dinner or dancing. But the celebrity whose style I’m most like on a daily basis is Gwen Stefani. The No Doubt singer always exudes cool, whether she’s wearing camouflage pants and sneakers, or an African-printed dress and high-heeled booties. Her look is always age-appropriate yet she’s consistently stylish, edgy and looks incredibly chic.

To celebrate the new Crystal Light Mocktails, I was tasked with ‘mocking’ my favorite celebrity’s personal style. I came across this photo of Gwen Stefani dressed in my preferred weekend outfit – an equestrian-inspired look of a cropped blazer, jeans and riding boots. Wearing her hair in a chic top bun, she rocked the look while out with her husband Gavin Rossdale and their sons Kingston and Zuma at the Los Angeles Zoo. Gwen’s look consisted of a tartan print blazer by L.A.M.B., dark jeans and riding boots, accessorized with a red L.A.M.B. Striped Pawi Crossbody bag, oversized Prada Baroque sunnies and a signature red lip.

I ‘mocked’ the look with my own Prada Baroque sunglasses, Vanora Cricket striped jacket by Rugby Ralph Lauren, dark blue denim by James Jeans, a printed scarf, Kate Spade crossbody bag and Corso Como riding boots. I put my hair in a top bun and added a red lip like Gwen’s to complete the look.

The 2014 MTV VMAs did not disappoint with plenty of haute red carpet looks, and haute performances to match! The red carpet was full of sparkly dresses, sexy pant suits, and a modern double denim disaster, courtesy of Katy Perry and Riff Raff! And onstage, the performer of the night was Beyonce, of course, who worked the stage in a jeweled Tom Ford custom creation.

Read on for my picks of last night’s red carpet winners and the celebs (losers) who should have tried again:

RED CARPET WINNERS

J. Lo just keeps looking better and better! She wore a sparkly silver Charbel Zoe dress with strategically placed cutouts paired with wore Jimmy Choo pumps, Norman Silverman jewelry and a silver python Thalé Blanc ‘Talia Mini Fastueux’ clutch.

Beyonce, the 2014 Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award winner, hit the red carpet in a lacy black Nicolas Jebran dress, Christian Louboutin heels and Lorraine Schwartz earrings.

Later, she performed on stage in a custom Tom Ford bejeweled bodysuit and accepted the Video Vanguard Award presented by her husband, Jay-Z and daughter, Blue Ivy.

The ageless Gwen Stefani wore a haute pink and black bustier and matching pants by L.A.M.B. couture. She paired it with a pink lip and Christian Louboutin Body Strass Jeweled Pumps.

Nicki Minaj hit the red carpet in a long-sleeved, leopard print mini dress paired with Saint Laurent Janis 105 Escarpin Pumps in Powder Patent Leather. She looked beautiful with her hair gently waved and parted on one side.

Michelle Williams looked beautiful in a Roberto Cavalli giraffe-print halter gown.

Miley Cyrus looked tame compared to last year’s look of a latex bra top and panties. This year she wore a bit more clothing: a black leather bandeau/bra top and harem pants by Alexandre Vauthier.

Solange Knowles wore an H&M Studio Collection suit paired with Stuart Weitzman Nudist sandals and jewelry by Stephen Webster and XIV Karat.

Chanel Iman looked haute (but hot – isn’t it warm in Cali?) in a Balmain dress and black leather Casadei Cage sandals.

Kendall Jenner looked modelicious in an Alon Livne mesh top with a black bra and pants.

Demi Lovato wore a bright red Lanvin gown that showed plenty of cleavage.

Iggy Azalea wore a strapless, silver Versace gown.

Rita Ora rocked a sexy red silk charmeuse dress by Donna Karan Atelier.

Pregnant Kelly Rowland glowed in a sparkly, nude Kaufman Franco halter gown.

Jordin Sparks looked pretty in a white Simply Intricate dress, Stuart Weitzman Nudist heels, Virgins, Saints & Angels earrings and a Charlie Lapson handbag. Her boyfriend Jason Derulo wore a matching white suit.

RED CARPET LOSERS
Victoria Justice rocked a chic white Alice + Olivia tube top but the look went wrong with her feathered Lublu Kira Plastinina skirt. She accessorized with Jimmy Choo Maya Studded Black Suede Pointy Toe Pumps, Edie Parker’s #Hashtag clutch, Sorelli earrings and a Dionea Orcini ring.

Kim Kardashian wore a geo print Balmain dress which featured a cape-like top and revealed her cleavage. She paired it with Balmain Braided Rope Sandals.

Jourdan Dunn looked a bit under dressed in a black Balmain maxi skirt and bra top.

Katy Perry and Riff Raff wore matching Versace denim looks, and tried to give Britney Spears‘ and Justin Timberlake‘s double denim outfits a run for their money.

Orange is the New Black‘s Uzo Aduba wore a simple black dress with a graphic print around the middle and at the shoulders.

Jessie J wore a somewhat shapeless green vintage Halston gown.

Ariana Grande wore a leather Moschino dress and Tom Ford over-the-knee boots but the edgy look overpowered her tiny frame.

Nina Dobrev wore a black and red dress by one of her favorite designers: Zuhair Murad.

Jamie Chung looked nice but basic in a beaded red Versace dress and Stuart Weitzman Nudist sandals.

Taylor Swift wore an adult onesie! This blue Mary Katrantzou romper was not her best look, and she accessorized with Elie Saab Fall 2014 shoes, and jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz and Ofira.

Ireland Baldwin wore a shapeless leather flapper dress by Roberto Cavalli, while girlfriend Angel Haze wore a green perforated tunic and leather leggings.

Amber Rose hit the red carpet wearing pretty much just a silver bikini and body chains by Laura Dewitt.

Rocsi Diaz looked like she was going to hit the club in this gold Haute Hippie dress.

Chloë Grace Moretz looked chic but ten years older in this red and pink Louis Vuitton ensemble.

Charli XCX wore a risky one shoulder tiger print pantsuit.
